It’s “Back to School” time for our young people.  You have probably seen a bumper sticker which reads, “If you can read this, thank a teacher.”  This is a good time to offer a prayer of thanksgiving for our schoolteachers and administrators.  Take a moment to think of those teachers who had a positive influence on your life and give thanks.

  A variation on the bumper sticker would be, “If you can read a Bible, thank a Sunday School Teacher.”  At Schertz Church we are have Sunday School Promotion Sunday on August 17.  All over our town Sunday School teachers are very busy getting ready for this “Back to School, Back to Church” time. Please remember them in prayer as they study and prepare to give our children, youth and adults a meaningful spiritual foundation. Take a moment to thank God for those of your church family who shared their faith with you as a young person. 

  Sunday, September 24 is our Concert of Prayer for “Back to School”  and the “Blessing of the Backpacks” at each service of worship. Remember our church staff in a special way through prayer this month as we put together the final plans for our fall and winter programming.  look forward to being with you in all the opportunities for ministry that we have here at Schertz UMC.
