Children's Ministries

Schertz UMC has so much to offer for children of all ages.

Sunday School

We offer Sunday School for age PK thru 6th grade, a nursery for 0 thru 4 year olds. For a sample of the excitement generated from our program just check out the walls in our rooms. Colorful and creative! Our children are participating in a new study called LIVE BIG! They meet in age appropriate gatherings and using a program on DVD as well as our well prepared teachers enjoy learning how to live big for God in this world. The children start with worship and song at 9:45 am in room 213. They then split up by and attend age appropriate classes lead by loving teachers.

Children's Church

We now offer children's church for kindergarten through 3rd graders during our 8:30 am and 11:00 am church service. The children begin in the sanctuary with their parents and are escorted to the room after Small Talk (our children's sermon). We also offer a mixed age Sunday school at 11:00 for children whose parents are in worship or Sunday school. They meet in room 206 parents can pick them up from there after service. We have just begun a junior high/high school class at 11:00. They meet in room 205.

Confirmation Classes

Usually starting in January each year. All students 6th grade and up who have not become members of the church are invited to join us as we study Methodism and how it impacts our faith. We have field trips and friends of the faith to come along side of us.

Vacation Bible School

Harvest Festival-a fun family alternative to trick or treating which includes supper, games, crafts, fellowship and lots and lots of candy.

Child-care provided for meetings, studies and most ministry events

Scouting:

Cub Scount Pack 51 For Boys up to age 10.

Boy Scout Troop 51 For Boys age 11 to 18 years old.

Venturing Crew 51
For boys AND girls age 14 through 21.

Girl Scouts
